Alessandro Dell'Acqua is an Italian shoe, footwear and clothes designer who was born on the 21st December, 1962 in Naples. He is a graduate in graphic design, having studied at the Accademia di Belli Arti. Success came quickly to Alessandro - when he was 23 years of age he worked alongside Gianni Versace designing fashions for an Italian fashion house called Genny. Subsequently, he became creative director for the Pietro Pianforini knitwear company. He has also designed for a number of other Italian brands including Iceberg and Mariella Burani.
Alessandro Dell'Acqua launched his own ready to wear collection in 1996, in Italy. His designs were embraced by the fashion world, as they were stylish and combined chic tailoring with feminity. Encouraged by his success, Alessandro launched his menswear line in 1998.
Alessandro Dell'Acqua's shoes are intricately made, with great attention to detail, using the finest suede or leather. For example, the Alessandro Dell'Acqua suede strappy sandals (pictured right) from the Spring / Summer 2009 season are incredibly stylish, featuring a rear zip fastening at the back and clear perspex panels at the front, together with a sexy 4 inch heel. The flower shoe peep toe boots (above right), again from the Spring / Summer 2009 collection, display the same attention to detail with an exquisitely intricate cut away flower design. Both styles can be bought online from Browns Fashion.
Alessandro Dell'Acqua's designs are frequently worn by celebrities and film stars. Celebrities who have been seen wearing his designs include Eva Longoria, Jennifer Connolly (who has been photoed sporting a fine pair of Alessandro Dell'Acqua sandals), Hilary Duff, Jessica Biel, Lindsay Lohan, Kate Walsh, Kate Bosworth, Christina Aguilera and Paris Hilton.
