Beatrix Ong is a British shoe designer based in London. Before setting up on her own, she spent time working in the Fashion Department of Harpers Bazaar in the US. She has also designed for Jimmy Choo. However, spurred on by her own ideas for designs and the creative freedom she craved, she decided to set up on her own. She wanted to design stylish footwear that women could enjoy wearing from day to evening in comfort.
She launched her first collection of shoes at London Fashion Week in September 2002, which received great acclaim. Department stores around the world clamoured to add her designs to their shops.
Since this time, Beatrix Ong shoes have gone from strength to strength. She was hailed at "The New Choo" on the cover of Shoo magazine, and named as a top ten shoe designer in "The Independent", alongside Manolo Blahnik (who needs no introduction) and Aydin Kurdash, the creator of Gina Shoes.
In October 2004, Beatrix Ong opened her first retail store, in Primrose Hill in London which later moved to the Burlington Arcase in Central London. In July 2008, she teamed up with Harold Tillman and Belinda Earl to build the Beatrix Ong brand into a global accessories brand.
Celebrities who have been spotted wearing Beatrix Ong shoes and boots include Sadie Frost, Jade Jagger, Sienna Miller and Dita Von Teese.
