The Fendi company is an Italian company that was founded in Rome in 1918 by Adele Casagrande, although now it is a subsidiary of the LVMH publicly listed company, which also owns Louis Vuitton and Moët et Chandon champagne.
Originally launched as a leather and fur shop in Rome, the Fendi brand is now best known for its handbags, called "baguettes" and other leather items including shoes, boots and sandals. They now also offer in addition a full ready to wear range of dresses, jackets, tops and skirts. The creative director of Fendi is Karl Lagerfield, who designed the Fendi double F logo, sometimes referred to as the "Zucca" print. Fendi still produce a range of real fur coats which has caused consternation amongst groups concerned with animal welfare.
Celebrities known to love Fendi shoes, bags and accessories include Keira Knightley, Gwen Stefani, Sarah Jessica Parker, Misch Barton, Sienna Miller, Jessica Simpson, Christina Aguilera, Paris Hilton, Nicole Richie, Lyndsay Lohan and Katie Holmes (see left, Katie Holmes adorned with the Fendi "Secret Code" bag). My own preference is for the Fendi python baguette (see right). Now that is truly magnificent handbag.
The UK Fendi boutique is on Sloane Street in London, SW1X 9NE. Fendi goods can also be bought from concessions in Harrods, Selfridges and Harvey Nichols, the latter store having branches outside of London, including Manchester, Leeds and Edinburgh.
E&AModa is an online designer outlet and they have a wide range of Fendi pumps, ankle boots, ballet flats, wedges and bags online, all at reduced prices. E&AModa are based in the UK but offer worldwide delivery.
MyTheresa have a great selection of Fendi shoes online, and there are currently many reductions in the sale.
