Pierre Hardy is a French shoe designer who studied fine arts at college. He designed his first shoe collection in 1988 for Christian Dior. His designs were successful and he was chosen to collaborate with Vogue Homme International magazine, where he was responsible for editing and illustrating the show page.
Continually busy in the 1990s, Pierre Hardy also designed footwear for Hermés, became the Art Director of Sequoia and became a teacher at the "Superior School of Applied Art" (translated from the French "Ecole Superieur des Arts Appliqués"). Finally, in 1999, Pierre Hardy launched his own shoe collection to rave reviews, following this with a collection of shoes for men in 2001. He opened is first Parisien boutique in 2003, and since then has opened a string of boutiques across the world. In addition to his own shoe collection, Pierre still finds time to be the chief designer of Balenciaga shoes. He is also an accomplished dancer!
