Shofolk was launched as the sister company to Folk Clothing in 2004 (Folk clothing was launched in 2001). The company was founded by Cathal McAteer and now the company has eight people in a close knit team.
All the employees work in the studio behind the London bricks and mortar store. You may well see some of the design team helping out in the shop or enjoying a drink on a bench outside the shop on Fridays in summer.
The Shofolk design philosophy is to create clean, understated designs with a zealous attention to detail including fabric selection, colour and the detail of the design. Distinctive but simple shapes are combined with the softest of natural leathers to create footwear that is amazingly stylish and fashionable - and comfortable too! These designs are functional.
All the shoes and boots are made in limited quantities only to maintain the quality, exclusivity and uniqueness of the Shofolk brand.
Where are Shofolk shoes and boots made?Shofolk footwear is made in a small family owned factory in Northern Portugal using the finest leather imported from Italy. The family's expertise, combined with the beautiful Italian leather, breathes life into the Shofolk designs.
Where can I buy Shofolk boots and shoes? If you live in London, you can pop into the boutique at 49 Lambs Conduit St, WC1N 3NG. The range can also be found in some independent boutiques and high end department stores such as Harvey Nichols.
